You win if your horse finishes 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. In a field of less than 7 horses you win on only on the 1st & 2nd finisher.
Brackets Quinella
A unique bet to Japanese Horse Racing. You win when you bet 2 horses bracket numbers and they finish on the 1st & 2nd rank. There are 8 brackets in a field of 16 horses. Brackets wagering occurs only in fields with more than 9 horses. Brackets bets correspond to the color of the jockeys caps.
Quinella
You win when your 2 horses finish 1st and 2nd in either order.
Brackets Exacta
You win when you bet 2 racket numbers and the horses included in those brackets finish 1st and 2nd. Again this bet corresponds to the colors of the jockeys caps.
Exacta
You win when you bet 2 horses and they finish in the correct order. 1st and 2nd finisher in exact order.
Quinella Place
You win when you bet on any 2 of the first 3 finishers in a race. Example: if the finishers are 10-7-4 then the winning quinella place bets are 4-10, 4-7, 7-10.
Trio
You win when your horses finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in any order.
Trifecta
You win when you pick the first 3 finishers in the exact order.
